Help: Where is my Bluetooth?

I bought my Vaio VGN FE11M last year.
All went very well.
I had my bluetooth active and used it regularly.

2 Weeks ago, the IT-Man in our office was supposed to install PGP on my desktop.

By doing so the system crashed down.
He had to reset everythin (reformat).

Since then, having reinstalled everything all seems to work quit well, with one exception: My Bluetooth has disappeared!

When trying to install the driver on the C drive, it block when saying that I should add the "device". What device?

I have also downloaded the "update bluetooth driver". But its the same story.

Can anybody help?????

I have VGN-BX296XP with the similar problem. In my case Bluetooth just disappeared without doing "anything". It was working perfectly well with my Nokia N70, but one day... nothing. I have tried everything. When trying to re-install drivers it really is asking for a device.

Hopefully e-support will help me. I would like to send this for repair. Lets see, what happens.

Hi iminhokis and welcome to the forum.

Is the Bluetooth device listed in Device Manager and If so are any errors reported?

In my case I can't find it in the Device Manager. It is built in Bluetooth. How come it can disappear? Full system recovery did not help either. When trying to install BT from Utils, it stucks at about 60% and keeps asking for device. How can I plug in device that is built in?

I think I should send this for repair, but need to wait e-supports' reply.
