I can't connect my vaio to an external monitor...help...

hi, my vaio is FE11H, and i'm trying to connect my vaio to an external monitor (samsung SM940MW), i tried it by connecting them with vga or S-video, but none of them work, the notebook detects the monitor. I tried to configure it manually but is still no use...

I also tried to do it by pushing Fn+F7, and i noticed it changes to dualview mode, since i can drag icons and windows out of the screen, but they didn't appear on the external monitor, but it says "no signal"

Any ideas??

Hi Cyclops and welcome to Club Vaio.

I am afraid it is not good news - there seems to be a basic incompatibility between some Vaios and some Samsung products.

Have a look at THIS RECENT THREAD - it would appear to be something in the wiring of the VGA sockets.

This should not happen and I would raise the issue with Vaio-Link.

About connecting vaio to external monitor, i've no problem BUT i have a problem when flip down the laptop screen the system automatic hibernate/monitor black. Kindly i would ask help how to solve this problem. I have 14 inc vaio but i prefer to work with 19 inc external monitor. Tq
