Since the day i bought this laptop, I have had two problems which reoccur in tandem.
Generally I find I need to set both the brightness of my screen and the volume at lower levels. I do this by using the Fn + F3 - F6 buttons. I have also tried doing it manually via Windows power settings.
After a short while (it varies), but usually no longer than 10 mins, both reset themselves to 100%.
The machine came with Windows 8, and was upgraded to Windows 8.1. The problem was the same under both operating systems. I have turned off adaptive brightness. I have the latest BIOS update from March 2013. I have tried to update all the relevant drivers. Still I cannot find a solution. I did read in a post elsewhere that a BIOS correction from December had fixed the problem, but cannot find any such update.
