Why does windows not recognise 2nd HDD VAIO VGN-AR31E

I have fitted a second HDD in my my Vaio VGN-AR31E.  The HDD was recognised OK and driver installed however Windows Vista does not find it.  What do I do?  HDD1 is 120GB  HDD2 is 500GB.
