A working USB Bluetooth dongle for WH-1000XM3

What is a confirmed 100% working USB Bluetooth dongle for use with WH-1000XM3? I intend to use it with Windows 10. The problem is, I have a "CSR V4.0 3Mbps Dual Mode" dongle bought from eBay, and it works perfectly with Sennheiser Momentum 2.0, but WH-1000XM3 does NOT work with it reliably. Audio chops and stutters all the time, no matter what. Something like https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm3/v1/en/contents/TP0001703090.html not help at all. I suspect it is a firmware problem of WH-1000XM3, transmission/codecs are not properly supported somehow. Whatever the culprit is, I can't use these headphones with my PC like this.

Hi there,

We'll check this and update this thread when we have more information.

Until then, maybe our members will have some knowledge to share.

Best wishes,

Hi junoder,

It is not guaranteed that the headphones will work with an adaptor.

Ok. But how come there are not thoundands of people complaining about this? I'm sure there must be thousands of people trying to connect these headphones to a PC that does not have a built in Bluetooth and therefore they have to use a USB Bluetooth dongle.

Also, I am very surprised if there are zero USB Bluetooth dongles that work with these headphones. We just need to know which one works, and then I could buy it. Unless of course the correct thing happens, Sony is able to fix the compatibility problem.

Right... I have it working on my WH-1000XM3 headphones paired with my Win10 PC via a bluetooth dongle.

This is the dongle:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XPCVB4F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

However, when I have it plugged into the USB ports at the back of the PC it seemed to do the "connected - cannot pair something went wrong etc etc".  When I plugged it into the USB port on the front of the PC... it just worked, connected like it was meant to... and it's done.

I have no technical explanation for this.

I did do the following which I cannot confirm may also help... but you might want to try this too:

Go to the Services App in Win10, Go to any and all Bluetooth services and switch their StartUp Type to Automatic (when you can there was one that I couldn't).

Pretty annoyed that there seems to be so little information from Sony on how to connect these... can't be that everyone just owns laptops with inbuilt bluetooth.
