An update for august... Jeff look here!

from esato forum

henryblanck:

I called the SE USA help desk and spoke to a customer service rep, and he was very knowledgeable. He said that he confirms there WILL be a Satio firmware release after R2AK006 released in mid to late August. He told me to hold tight, they understand the issues and are working on releasing an updated firmware.

is it true?

only jeff can confirm...

Well lets us see if this will happen. SE always come late even on the dates for a launch of a new phone.

I prefer the way that Apple and Google works. When they say that will be an update is because it will be an update and even some times they confirm new updates are in test

so that people don't have to worry that much and living with expectations for a big update.

Since Apple release the Iphone4 software already are preparing a fix for the battery problem as well Google Android a new version of the software will come soon after just a major update has been launch three weeks ago.

So SE have a lot to learn, just to remember them when I bought P1i I only had two firmware updates in two years.

They need to change they roadmap on software lifecycle and deliver a proper based customer relation to the masses.

Let us see what the future of SE will bring to us, mistakes has to be learned and make a proper changes for the future.

This is pathetic, Jeff  is obviously active to catering to the x10 community about their issues yet Jeff takes a long time to get back to our concerns.  Reason? there is no good news to share, if there was, Jeff would be in here re-assuring us of it.

I just got off the phone with SE and was told there will be an update next month(4th quarter). what wont be on it is multi-touch(like the iphone has) and it wont become an android. but he did say that it will most likely be a big update along with the update x10 is getting.

Hi all,

As usual, anything official will come on our Product Blog and be cross-posted here.

Again, EVERYONE is aware of the concerns this group of Satio users has, and we are acting, albeit interally, for the time being.

Hi Jeff,

I'm glad to know that SE is looking to solve Satio problems and care about Satio users complains.

But I hope that your answer is not a typical answer just to calm down the waters and at the end the update doesn't come out.

I will be waiting for SE next action about this phone.

I tell you that I am from Portugal and one of the moderators of SE Portuguese unofficial club @ internet.

I am one of the biggest SE defenders but patience as limits. And I think that a phone like Satio deserves more attention from SE.

Like I said I will be waiting for your action about Satio......

Dear Jeff,

I am owning a Satio and I have to say, that I am pleased with it most times. I think I do not need to repeat the obvious bugs.

While I can not share all the opinions in this forum (Symbian^3? Why? I bought an S60v5 device, so I simply do not expect an update to S^3!),

I would also like to "demand" an update for the existing bugs.

But I can understand the  flow of negativ posts and comments.

For me, the main reason to be angry, is the way of communication SE is going (via you or the support centers).

All your answers (I guess they are given  within the limits coming from higher levels) are simply not allying. They have no real answer or point!

Take your recent answer: Everyone is aware and you are acting.......well..um...yes. That´s fine! But acting in what

direction? Keep silence to sell the last Satios in stock as fast as possible before the majority of potential buyers is realising

the bugs? Or does your actions involve the production of a patch / firmwareupdate? I simply can not now, but considering

that the last updates where minor, S60v5 is almost at it´s dead end, and even Nokia will introduce an new System (MeeGo):

both seems possible.

Right now, I simply do not really trust SE in that matter. Mostly because of the lack of communication.

Who ever is responsible for the decision NOT to communicate with us, should be aware of the fact, that most of us

are "technic-geeks". Multiplicators, that are often asked "Hey, you know the market! What mobile should I buy?"

Right know my answer is: "Well, concerning the Satio: I would wait for the new update, but it may never arrive!" Conclusion:

"Oh, don´t mind! I´ll take the XY then, because I want a new phone NOW"

The Question is very simple:

Will there be an update? Yes or No!

I am not talking about what content will be within the update, but simply the fact Yes or No......

Any further delay on that simple answer costs SE real money.

Greetings
