hi i just got the xperia x10 & im a total novice to internet mobile phones, but 1 of the things i liked about this phone was the in-built fm radio. however i cant find this. can any1 please help. thanx
The X10 has a built-in FM tuner? If that is so, I haven't been able to find it either and I've had this phone for almost 2 months now. In a similar thread to this, I stated that in order to get FM radio, you would need to use a headset that has a built-in tuner (such as the case with the MW-600 headset). It could very well be though that the X10 does have a built-in FM tuner but it is not able to be used due to the limitations of Android 1.6 as is the case with the camera light not being able to flash due to 1.6 not supporting the feature. So, I would say either be patient and wait for the Android 2.x update that is supposed to be coming in a few months or to get a headset that supports FM radio if you can't wait till the Android update. I know this isn't much of an answer but it's the best one I can give based on the information I have right now. Hope this helps!
EDIT: After doing some looking around it would appear that all the other X10 phones (Mini, Mini Pro, and X8) support FM radio but not the X10 itself. If you meant that you have the X10 and not any of the other phones mentioned (X8 not released yet so ignore that one), then what I said above is true (ignore Android part as the phone doesn't have a tuner). Otherwise, you should be able to find something to do with Radio either in the settings or in the App drawer or some place. I only have the X10 so I can't say how to use the other ones.
I'd just add that any FM Radio applications will require a data plan or wifi connection, so you'd really just be using internet radio. If you really want it, there are quite a few apps out there, many of which are free...
