Music and photo files on SD card missing from Xperia T when connected to computer

Music , photos, video and album files that are stored on the SD card are viewable when the SD card is separated from the phone and connected to a computer. But, when in the phone and that is connected to the computer most of the files are missing e.g: Music files on SD card on its own shows 4.46GB, 594 files and 559 folders. When in the phone shows 219MB, 32 files and 72 folders.

Also, noted that yesterday All music files were there but no photo files at all, now only ten are missing.

However,  when using the phone normally all files can be accessed and music can be played.

Any one any ideas?

If you remove the microsd card from the phone and plug it direct to PC, do you have same issue?

Also try to boot phone in safe mode and check if same issue. Maybe some files are "locked" by phone (but I don't know why)

At last format SD card with NTFS file system (deep format, not fast)

I have the exact same problem.

When SD card is inside phone and USB connection mode is on MTP (Media transfer mode), i cannot see some of the Files/Photos/Music, either in SD card and Internal Memory.

When SD card is inside phone and USB connection mode is on MSC (Mass storage mode), i can see all files. By default, in this mode is not possible to access Internal memory files.

When SD card is connected directly into PC i can see all the files..

So i presume it is not SD card problem. Maybe software..

Already tried in safe mode and issue continues..

When the SD Card is removed from he phone and connected to a computer - all the files are viewable and accessible.

I have tried the boot in safe mode - alas, the problem still remains.

I noted on another thread relating to similar problems with a Sandisk 32 GB SD card that a a member of Sony staff recommended using a Samsung 16 GB class 10 SD Card. I have got one and I am able to report that it has been working well for the last 3 days.

I will do an update should this change.

My android (Xperia Mini Pro)  does the same thing .....It did it  2 times since I have that cell phone (for almost a year)   .. many of my photos videos and music  disappeared..but not only that..id was DELETED...I tried to  put  SD card into another reader(PC) ..but those files  simply were  gone..:( ... I solve that problem right now.... Lucky me - I did some backups and saved all SD files to PC  before ...So 97% of files are back ....but only thanx to backup .... I think, i t happens  during  too quick  unmounting of  USB cable  from the phone   after some action ( data write/read ...)  .. this time, it happened after my phone repair..I had to repair a flex cable... so SD card  was removed and cell phone was disassembled  then....  I noticed the file missing   just  few days after reassemble......It's possible that the  files were gone from the first moment of reassemble and turning the phone on .....I hope it's just  a mechanical issue..not  system issue....would be very sad to have  an android  which deletes the files  by it's own decision Grinning_Face .
