My xperia disconnects from home wifi

Hi, I have the Xperia Z3, Until recently, my phone was fine. About 3 weeks ago it started disconnecting from my home wifi, this is extremely annoying. It does it when it feels like. Mostly when ive been idle for a bit, but does occur at other times too, in the middle of a written conversation it disconnects.

Things ive tried:

Resetting Router, moving it.

Resetting apps on phone to default.

Forgetting the Wifi connection and re connecting it.

Its doing my head in now need it sorted.

Any suggestions / fixes?

Hi Moreton,

Discussion Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines

Are you by chance using any Anti virus or Task manager or even battery saving apps? if so they may be causing the drop in the Wifi connection. I suggest looking through and removing any if you do have them.

let us know how you get on.

Thanks Moreton,

Can you advise if you are using Stamina mode? and if so when you turn it off does the issue continue?

Does this only happen on your home Wifi or does this happen with all Wifi connections?

Its fine when im on 3g/4g just on my home wifi

would a new router sort it ?

The issue does seem to stem from the Router, you could try contacting the ISP and asking them if a software update to the router would help.

Try going into the Power Management Settings and turning off "Location Based WiFi"

I'm not sure why, but this sorted the exact same problem for me!
