Problem with sharp edges on the sim card slot cover? (when closed.)

Last week, I upgraded from the Z1 compact (I broke the screen) to the Z3 Compact and so far the phone has been great. Unfortunately, the cover that closes off the SIM card slot doesn't shut completely; when I push it firmly into place, it still somehow becomes loose ans leaves a small gap. This means that in effect, my phone is not waterproof at all which is very disappoining, can I get any help?

PS. I bought the device in Nairobi, Kenya.

Check that nothing is protruding like the info card and also that the rubber seal is intact and not damaged and nothing is stuck in the housing frame stopping the flap from closing correctly

If you cannot see what is causing the issue and simply cannot resolve it, then I do suggest taking the device back to the place of purchase or contacting Sony Mobile Customer Care, they should be able to supply the next step to getting this resolved.
