Subject: Replacement or refund of mobile phone because of manufacturing defect.
Dear Sir
On 23 November 2014, I bought a Sony Xperia Z2 (IMEI no. 352494061079736, Sl no. 1284-1321, Model no. D6502) mobile phone from M/s Vaishno Telecom (Shop no. 10, Deep Cinema Commercial Complex, Ashok Vihar Ph-1, Delhi – 110052, via Invoice no. – 1144. In the duration of my usage I have discovered that the phone had the following problems:
1) Spot in upper left corner of screen.
2) Loose and unfitting caps for charger and memory card slot.
3) Battery draining very fast at certain percentages.
The mobile phone was submitted by me on 24 February 2015 to sony authorized service center (Dhanvi Communication, D-16 Kamla Nagar, Delhi – 110007, Ph. ) for the necessary action to be undertaken. On 4th March 2015, I received the phone back with certain necessary repairs made.
Within 3 days the phone started to show further new issues as follows:
1) Touch screen malfunctioning (working on its own or not working at all).
2) Battery backup significantly reduced further than before (nearly 30% degradation).
3) Dust and mist on camera lens from the inside.
4) Microphone issues (voice not heard by others clearly).
On 11 March 2015 I again had to submit it back to the same service center as mentioned above for necessary action to be taken.
The particular mobile phone sold to me is defective as you can see and not of satisfactory quality hence not usable.
The Sale of Goods Act 1930 makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
As you are in breach of contract I am entitled to have the phone replaced with a new one or my money refunded and I would request that you confirm that you will do this within the next 10 days from today.
I also require you to confirm on how you will arrange for my money to be refunded.
I look forward to receive an affirmative call/reply from you.
Yours faithfully
Sambhav Jain
I had to post this letter here because of no response from anywhere. Also no email ids are mentioned for reaching out to any sony representative.
Sorry to hear this but we are a user support forum and have no influence over Sony so you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contac
I tried using the support page but my request is not being accepted there. I also tried to talk to the seller but he can only guide me towards the service center.
Can you provide me with some email addresses on which i can contact the related sony officials ???
The only contact details we have is that provided above
The details provided above doesnt help as the website has some bugs and it is not accepting my request.
