So I personally have no idea how to root a phone or how to unlock the bootloader of my Xperia Z2.
This is what I did:
I used FlashTool to downgrade my phone. Everything worked. Except now X reality doesn't work, the Sony sound enhancement doesn't work, the battery stamina feature doesn't work and the camera now takes photos worse looking than my 3DS.
So what happened? Did this "new" firmware rooted or unlocked the bootloader of my phone somehow? Is it possible for me to get the Sony exlusive features back? I really wish the guy whos recommending everyone to use FlashTool on this site would warn people before telling others to use that software. Thanks a lot for your help. Your thread was amazing.
If you haven't unlocked your bootloader then nothing has been lost - Now as you say you used Flashtool my question is did you flash a firmware for your country and your specific model phone? Flashtool is fine and is the only way to downgrade unless a service centre would do it which I doubt
Yes, its for the same model. So FlashTool is unable to unlock the bootloader then? Is there a way for me to check whether the bootloader of my phone has been unlocked?
I see, mine is not unlocked afterall. Thanks for the help.
To check Bootloader status dial *#*#7378423#*#* then open Service info then Configuration - If it says Bootloader unlocked : Yes then it is unlocked anything else then it's locked but is it says Bootloader unlock allowed : Yes then you are able to unlock and if it says No then you can't unlock
