Try letting the battery drain to zero, then fully charge the phone. Once it's charged, turn on Stamina Mode, and in Settings --> Developer Options set the number of background processes to 4. Your battery life won't increase drastically,  but it should help to at least keep your phone going for the whole day. You should let it charge overnight every day. Most smartphones are the same.Battery life is always a problem.

Try turning off stamina mode and any other battery life 'enhancers'.

Download and install CPU Spy Plus to check if the phone enters deep sleep, maybe there is an app keeping a (partial) wakelock, thus draining your battery. If this is the case you should consult BetterBatteryStats for detailed information about the wakelocks.

My phone got some medium use today and is unplugged for 6 hours, still 73% percent left. Normally it runs for 12-15 hours untill empty. It is always connected to wi-fi or 3G/2G etc. It is also my main music player.

Some basic tips:

Turn off location services/GPS, or at least make sure that google maps isn't constantly calculating your location in the maps settings. Turn off bluetooth, wi-fi and any other connectivity setting you are not using at the moment. Turn off google now if you're not using it. Disable sync settings for apps you don't need constant sync for (Google+, Facebook, mail apps etc.) Turn off haptic feedback and keyboard sounds. Lower your screen brightness, yadayadyada.. Note: If you're using a certain feature, you should probably don't turn it off if you don't want to lose it.

Until yesterday I had a problem with my Sony Xperia L C2105, it would charge the battery normally to 100% but then it would drain it down to 20% and then it would die, tried many forums, followed many advices but nothing really worked until today morning. First thing I did, i switched off data and wireless connection since it had fineshed charged yesterday at 22hrs and today morning, at 6am I look at it and my Xperia had drained only 2% of its charge and when I turned the data on from 6am up to 8am it had drained 15% in other words the battery would last the usual. Then I decided to remove all widgets, wheather, photos and videos from the main screen, leaving only the clock and some short cuts. From 8am up to 14hrs my sony xperia had 75% connected with data. and now is 19hrs and my Xperia has 5% left and it hasn't died at 20%.
