Unfortunately this problem seems to be a well-known issue with these phones.
Ive read solving problems all over the internet and even on Sony Suppourt here, the solutions mentioned doesnt work for me. Im about to contact Sony to send my phone off to them for repair or something because this is fustrating. Ive lost my data so many time from factory resetting and factory resetting and ... factory resetting! but the problem is still there. Ive even tried Safe Mode and to no avail, that didnt work either!
From the phone in the "Sound" menu the "Media Volume" is movable but no sound.
The "In-Call volume" works and sound can be heard if you slide that volume up or down.
The "Ring and Notification" slides up and down but no sound. This also seems to control the "Alarm Volume" (depending where you set the "Ring and Notification Volume") but again, no sound can be heard (oh, Ive dropped the "Blutooth Mode" to "Off" as it was linked to my car, still no difference!).
It's a different story when you use the "Headphone jack", I do get sound from all three audio control (Media, Ring and Notification and Alarm) menu and even using "Blutooth headphones".
I've just factory reset my phone for the fourth time (my patience tank has now ran dry!!!!) and once again it seem that I've been wasting my time so it's over to you Sony!
