I just received my Xperia 10 yesterday and notice that the PS4 remote play app is saying that it isn't compatable with the Xperia 10. I'm just curious if anyone might know when/if it will be added to the supported device list. I know this probably isn't the best place to ask, but you never know.
At present, remote play has been limited to flagship devices such as xz series and the Xperia 1.
Yikes. Well that was the only reason I bought a Sony phone.
Hi @petenoodles, welcome to our community!
As @Viridis mentioned, Xperia 10 does not have support for PS4 Remote play and this will not be added in a coming software update.
If you are looking for an Xperia device that supports PS4 Remote Play, you will need to take a look at the flagship models (Xperia XZ-series and the upcoming Xperia 1).
I just bought new a your productoin Xperia L3 series phone. But I am very disapoiment in that production because of it's not PS4 Remote Play unuseable in that model phone.
I had use before Xperia Z3 Compact series, ( Z3 Compact was old verison compared to L3 ) and PS4 Remote Play as work as very good.
Please tell me: How is the possible old generation device support to that App or what kind of technical capacity lower than my new (Xperia Z3 Compact/Xperia L3) phone does not support to PS4 Remote Play.
Hi @BabaCelik, welcome to our forum!
PS4 Remote Play has always only been available on our flagships models, such as the Xperia Z3-series, Xperia Z5-series and so forth, not for the value line, such as the Xperia L-series and XA-series.
I'm not quite sure if it has anything to the actual hardware in the device or if the decision is that it should only be available to the flagship models.
That is all the information I have available, sorry that I can't give you a better answer than this.
This is ridiculous the L3 is possibly the worst Sony phone I have ever bought.
I only got this model because I don't like huge phones, my old XZ 1 compact was amazing, but this is now the smallest you do!
As soon as I set it up I tried to use Xperia transfer only to be told that I can't because it only works with Xperia phones, so apparently my XPERIA L3 isn't an Xperia phone! I find a work around and set it up.
I tried to use the flashlight from the quick menu, only to find it is disabled so I either have to download an app or use the camera, just to use the light!
I tried to set my PlayStation theme up, except all I can have is the background, because Sony phones no longer support themes.
I go to organise my apps and PS4 remote play isn't there.
No problem I think, I go to the Play store on to find it isn't compatible, PS4 connectivity is the only **bleep** reason I buy Sony phones!
Then I find out here it's because I didn't buy a flagship phone, because I don't want a slab for a phone and you don't do a compact version of your flagship phones anymore!
Even iPhones can use PS4 remote play now!!!
Absolutely disgusting.
Worse, I spent more on this phone than I did on my PS4 and yes it's a value series but I would expect it to do at least the same as a phone I bought YEARS ago!
HOW IS THIS PHONE WORTH MORE THAN A PS4?!
Junk, I can't even return it, I won't be buying another Sony phone again.
EDIT: So the light has finally started working, 1 thing actually works now.
Hello everyone!
PS4 system software version 7.00 introduces support for PS4 Remote Play on phones and tablets running Android 5.0 or higher. The update enables usage of PS4 Remote Play - with the phone's touch display for game control - on Xperia devices which did not support PS4 Remote Play at launch. The preconditions are that the customer has upgraded their PS4 device to system software version 7.00 and installed the latest PS4 Remote Play App.
