Dear Sony,
I hope someone from your team will find an answer for me :-).
Let me explain. Almost all electronics in my house are Sony (It's a SONY), from TV's to soundbase, headphones and smart speakers. I'm an user of X Compact for almost 3 years. I was thinking it's time to change it and I started to make a small research about the replacing one. Xperia 10 looked interesting at fist sight, but... The height is ~26mm bigger (not for my pockets), weight is 20% higher (hmm...), same RAM, nothing new on photo camera (have a WX's one), power button separate from fingerprint (WHY???) and so on.
Digging a little on alternative markets, I found some Xperia 10 at less than 190 EUR (new!), second hand X Compact at 90 - 110 EUR and XZ1 Compact at 200 - 280 EUR on Ebay (!!!). WHY XZ1 Compact is more expensive as used than a brand new Xperia 10??? XZ2 Compact is out of this discussion due to position of fingerprint reader.
And this is what we want: the phone should stay in the pocket (for us, mens) or purse (my wife moved from XA1, stupid one, to XZ, too big for her hand, and, finally, to X Compact), 16:9 (no 21:9 TV on market, so for whom should I make movies or pictures?), max. 140g (we are using covers additionally...), 4 Gb RAM (for better displays than X Compact) and a display/body ratio of more than 85%.
Conclusion: can you imagine a phone of 5 - 5,5 inches screen, smaller than XZ1 Compact, 120g, taking good pictures and, maybe, 18:9 ratio for the future?
Good luck,
Lucian
Solved, XZ1 Compact.
Don't buy it. It is a terrible phone. Xz1 is much better.
I noticed you said the xz2 compact was not of option because of the placement of the finger print reader. I want to tell you that the xz2 compact is the best phone I have owned to date. The finger print reader is in a great spot and worked fast everytime.
Unfortunately, the phone stopped reading my Sim card so I bought the xperia 10 because I found one locally for a great price. I would have bought another xz2 compact if I could have found one same day. I hate the finger print reader on the ten, and the fact there's a second separate button that's hard to find to lock the phone.
hi
the smartphone that is compelete i think.
