Hello,
I was recently given a new Android based phone by Vodafone. It's an unlocked Sony Xperia 10, I've been an iPhone user for years, but since I can't afford the latest and greatest, I figured I'd test the phone out, and use it as a stop gap until I can afford something else. I set the phone up with all of the apps I tend to use on my current phone, and testing the Xperia out for two months, before beginning to use the phone all the time. I've been using the phone at home via Wifi without a Sim card, and long story short, I finally put a Sim and mini sd in the phone, and all the folders I setup and the pages where the icons were located are now completely gone. The apps are there, but only when you swipe up in no specific order. I decided to do a factory restore, and work from a previous backup that's on my Google drive, everything seemed to be fine, the restore works. I power the phone off and insert the SD card, and boot the phone, login to the phone, make sure the SD is setup and recognized, then power the phone off. Insert the SIM, log into the SIM then the phone, everything loads up fine, and then the icons instantly disappear. Any clue as to why this is taking place, and what I can do to ensure that the backup sets everything back up the way I want it?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help out.
Cheers,
Victor
First thing to try is how it is in safe mode.
Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode where all downloaded apps are temporarily deactivated while in safe mode and by doing this, you can see whether this behaviour is caused by a downloaded app or not.
