Xperia 10 plus with weird bar at the bottom when watching Netflix

Xperia 10 plus with weird bar at the bottom of video when watching Netflix. This happens on Android 10 with the new navigation gesture. When switch to 2 button or 3 button navigation it's not there.

Hello @GTYeoh,

since you can't take screenshots while using Netflix, could you please try to take a photo of your phone screen when the bar is visible with another camera/phone and upload it here?

Just from your description I can't quiet grasp what it might looks like.

When you have the phone in landscape mode, the bottom of the screen has a black bar, about  3-4mm tall, stretches across the screen, so the positioning of the video is off, so slghtly higher than it should.

if you swipe up, the home "pill", the _____ line shows up in the bar, so it's like the bars there for the pill to be placed.

First picture is with 2 button navigation you can see that it is balanced on top and bottom. the pill is not present as watch video it is hidden

this one is with the gesture navigation as you can see the black bar above and below is not balanced as the one below is much more thicker.

yo this is no problem, it's perfectly normal for the navigation bar to take up a bit of space from the display.

Well that's absolute rubbish.

On Netflix, you get the small black bar and the picture is pushed up, in landscape mode.

Enable 3 icon nav and it is centered again.

But on something like mame, enabling 3 icon nav cuts off about 1cm of the image from the right, so the image is covered with a thick black bar, and either your buttons for the game are cut off only showing half a button, the game is cut off(your character for example can still move in to the black bar but not be seen,  or text is just gone, totally unreadable.

There's something wrong with the gestures or implementation on either Google or Sony's end.

Forgot to add, when you swipe for the buttons to appear, they actually pass the black space on the screen, as the appear on their own translucent bar

Does this happen in every game you play or a specific one?

Ok, so for Mame, it's the whole system that's shifted to the left and missing half the buttons on the right, and on the left side "exit" just shows "it" and coin is "in".

Older titles like Chu Chu rocket from Play Store isn't full screen anyway, but it's shifted to the left about 1cm. On the Xperia 1 is was set way over to the left but full  picture...like some older games it either ran at one side it the other..but on Xperia 1 II Sony seems to have fixed that bug and made older content run centrally, so you can see the shift.

Most emulators I've tried..some Sega play store games, CoD, Dokuro, and others.

It's got to be something to do with the implementation of gestures, so not really sure whos fault it is, Sony or Google.

Disney+ works fine and the gesture 3 icon bar is partially see through and slides off screen for content. Swipe right an d it reappears and the notification bar appears also.

So it may be content providers but may also be system bugs..I've reported it months ago to Sony.
