Use Sony A6300 as webcam on Zoom for Mac (like I used to)

Hello - I used to use my Sony A6300 as a webcam for Zoom on an Intel-based Mac.

I have upgraded to a Macbook Pro M1 Pro, but I can no longer connect to the A6300.

I have researched this extensively, and it appears that the solutions below have worked for some people, but not for others... Sony - please would you respond to this enquiry with a thought-out & technical response?

- I have 'restored legacy video camera support' ref. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/108387

- I have downgraded to Zoom Version: 5.16.10 (25689) on advice from the Zoom forum, but unfortunately the issue still persists (please see first screenshot).

- The only video options in Zoom are OSB Virtual Camera & FaceTime HD Camera - Sony Camera (Imaging Edge) is no longer present in Zoom and has been that way since I moved from an Intel-based Mac to a Macbook Pro M1 Pro with OS Sonoma.

- Please note that at the moment, Sony Imaging Edge Remote won't even connect to my Sony A6300 camera either! (2nd screenshot).

- I did contact Sony and all I received was a generic response of no use whatsoever. (Sony Body: ILCE-6300 Ver. 2.01 Lens: Ver. 02, OBS Studio 30.1.2, Sony Imaging Edge Desktop Version 1.2.00.02080)

- Can anyone help?

- Come on Sony!

- Come on Zoom?

Actually imaging edge webcam is not compatible with macos14

Sure, but Sonoma has been out for nearly 6 months. When will it be compatible, please Sony?

(and while you're at it, please would you fix this interface? It keeps telling me that there is html in it & it's been like this for years!)

Don’t ask to me..

Sony has a bad relation with macintosh world, and none with linux.

We have only to wait and pray 🤷‍♂️

I can see that the only supported OS systems are macOS® 10.13 - 10.15 and macOS 11.0  you can check this link: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/e-mount-body-ilce-6000-series/ilce-6300/articles/00247038 

Check this one too on the IME webcam support page: https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/app/webcam/en/download/, seems like there's no workaround for now, it might me be supported in future 🤷🏻‍♀️
