55XD8599 No Audio out to STR-DA 1200ES Amp

Hi,

     Wonder if anone can help with this issue ?  

I have a new 55XD8599 TV however I cannot get any sound from the TV when I switch from TV speakers to the audio speakers option in the speaker menu. I am guessing the HDMI does not work as the older ES1200 is not marked ARC on the HDMI connection. I have tried an optical lead. Nothing ... Phono lead ... nothing. What am I doing wrong ? Any ideas ?

Try this:

Connect tv with optical lead.

Go to Settings > Sound > Speakers = and select Audio system

go one step back and move to "Digital audio out" and select "Auto 1"
