Is there a known (or unacknowledged) problem with MIracast and Microsoft Surface devices??
I have a brand new 55" KD Sony TV which happily works in 'Mirror' mode with all our Android phones.
But when I try to 'miracast' from my Surface GO I get the connection ok , but then it starts to hang and goes into a total slowdown then stop. Same from my partners bigger Surface.
I've tried rebooting and reinstalling miracast with no success.. bah.

Any ideas gratefully received..

MiraCast is just the backend used for screen mirroring - though both on your Surface and Smartphone it is installed by default meaning you can directly select it from the settings of your device.
If you installed something - what did you install on your Surface?

Hi @Tobermory31 In my experience Miracast simply doesn’t work using Windows (10 here) over WiFi or Ethernet. In my case a seriously fast Dell laptop and a Dell Desktop PC. They connect with no problems then lag behind quickly and finally stop working all together. The only guaranteed solution is to use a HDMI cable. Note nothing to do with your surface, it is all windows tablets, laptops and PCs.
