Recording on external HDD

Recording on external HDD

Hi

I've recently bought Sony Bravia KD-49XE8396 Android tv that's connected to SKY dish via SKY+HD box. But I've cancelled my sky subscription, so this box is now used as a freeview device. I've also registered a 1TB external HDD as a recording device. However, when I try to record any program, it tries to record it on Sky+HD box which is not allowed as I'm not a sky customer anymore.

Is there anything I could do to force recordings on HDD?

Thanks

Hi @hemant_verma2000. It sounds like you are looking at the Sky+HD TV Guide. This clearly will not work as you do not have a Sky recording subscription. You need to set your recording from the TV Guide on the TV (Youview or Sony native) to record on the registered external HDD.

Hi @dave11674. It formats the HDD so you will lose everything recorded on it. It does warn you ...
