Q1: I misplaced my Sony P43 for over 18months with the batteries in it; there was no battery leak or corrosion. Now it only Power On but all other functions are dead except the shutter cover that opens. The sceen is blank with only multicolored vertical lines.
What can I do for salvage?
Q2: Is there an embedded Lithium battery in P43? If yes, could it be the problem?
Thanks. pato

I think I would try resetting the camera.
1. Turn the camera off and remove the batteries for 1 minute. Reinstall the batteries and turn on.
2. If this does not work, press the RESET button with a sharp object and then turn the power back on. You will find the Reset button inside the jack cover (bottom-right on rear of camera). You will have to reset date and time.
