connecting md to amp.

have a mds-je440 and a str dg 700 amp.have optical and analog cables but cannot get any sound out them. help please.. not technically minded.

Do you mean that there is no sound when you connect both devices together?

have now got sound thanks though why on earth it is on the x-box setting I do not know.
