BDP S6700 sound output issue

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help. I recently purchased this player and set the audio in the settings to PCM as advised in the manual, but my amplifier isn't playing back films in any other sound than Pro Logic. The amp is capable of DTS, DD, and Master, as I get the audio okay from sources like an Xbox. It just seems this player isn't doing it. Any help would be appreciated, as I feel I've tried the obvious things.

@Poppinjay

Go back and look at what the settings in your screenshot are now.

The manual does not say to set PCM, or if it does I can’t find it; it says to normally select Auto.

And I predict this is what your reset has restored.

PCM was taking the lowest common denominator soundtrack off your Blurays, bypassing all those superior formats on the discs, so your amp would never even see them 😢

My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…
