Over the past week or two, my recorder has been taking five minutes to boot-up and shutdown. It seems to be related to recent transmission changes to multiplexes COM7 and COM8, and possibly with there being two BBC4HDs in the EPG. BBC4HD recently moved from COM7 to COM8  Recording from COM7 and COM8 channels channels is okay, but the five minunte wait when I switch the recorder on from standby is annoying.

Recorders from Panasonic and DigiStream have also been having problems. I have already tried doing a complete rescan of the channels, but this has not rectified the problem.

I wonder if my slow boot-up and closedown is being caused by the same issue which is causing a problem mentioned in the recent post: HXD870 sticking in update mode. If so, it seems it is a broadcaster problem, but it might need an organisation as strong as Sony to get the broadcaster to fix it.
