UBP-X700 does not support Dolby TrueHD (ATMOS) in MKV files
UBP-X700 does not support Dolby TrueHD (Atmos) format packaged in MKV files. Right now the only way to play Atmos files is by using M2ST containers, but M2ST is not as common for online content as MKV. For example all the Atmos demos downloadable from the Dolby homepage, are in MKV format.
Does anyone know if there are chances that Sony in the future will be able to provide a firmware update to fix this issue? After all Sony claims MKV and Dolby TrueHD support for this product. Has anyone experienced this problem?

My suspicion is it will never support this.

Same here as mentioned above.
Right now I'm passing Atmos via Arc between Tv and Av receiver.
Sadly, as for usb/mkv Sony is out of the game at the moment. Please fix this.

Also have this problem. Only just found it out as I've just upgraded to a Sony AV receiver that can decode Atmos.
My TV is too old to decode Atmos and send it via ARC so I guess I'm stuck.
This should be addressed with a firmware fix but if it's not, it'd be great if the player could default to an audio track that it can read, rather than just giving an error message. When it does this I have to fish out the original remote control and change the audio channel.
