Can we put Xperia L for charging all night?

I read somewhere that Xperia devices can be put on charge for whole night long.

When phone is fully charged it'll automatically stop charging and battery will start to drain slowly, then after sometime when battery is drained it'll start charging again. This process will keep repeating untill you stop charging.

So my question is, Is it True? 

I am using Xperia L
