No sound through TV after connecting Blu-Ray player BDP-S3100

We've purchased a sony BDP-S3100 today and thought it would be easy to connect to our Sony Bravia TV (KDL-37S5500). We've plugged the HDMI cable in to HDMI 1, and have amazing picture but sadly no sounds. Have tried various things from the set up however still nothing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there

It should work, theres not that many setting to change really.

On the bluray player:

• Under audio settings, ensure that Digital Audio Out is set to Auto, and try setting Downmix to Stereo
• Turn on Control for HDMI under HDMI Settings

On the TV:

• Turn on Control for HDMI
• In Sound Adjustment Settings > Speakers, ensure that its set to "TV Speaker"

If that still fails - Try turning OFF the TV and Bluray player from the powerpoint on the wall.  Leave off for 2 minutes, and switch it all on again, starting with TV first.

My one 5.1 system doesn’t have sound from surround and center speakers, subwoofer and front speakers works good.i tried different set up components and its same.  Any ideas?
