when i use adobe premiere to import avi files it wont do it

it gives an error message saying unsupported audio rate in file.

how do i fix this?

Right-click properties on the AVI file.

What does it say next to audio bit rate?

duno hw good it is this is my 1st use of it its a 30 day trial from the adobe website

127 is not a standard bitrate - 128kbps is but i don't have anything that'll change it for you that i can find.

Probably VBR MP3

You want to "demux" the video, in other words, make a WAV file.

VirtualDub does this.
Go to file, open and open the file in question.

If a warning shows up about delay, ignore it.

Go to file > Save WAV

Then import the wav into the soundtrack.
