can't change brightness on my vpcec3m1e

Hello everyone.

I am happy with my Vaio but since the first moment I have frequent problems with changing the brightness.

Every approximately three hibernates or sleeps the brightness is stuck to the full (rarely to the least) and I cannot change it with the hot keys. The menu looks working ok on the screen but nothing really changes. I have to restart my laptop to make it work again.

Any ideas?

Hi Dionysis,

If you have not already done so I suggest that you install the updated graphics driver.

If that doesn’t cure the problem I have heard that by setting the screen to do nothing when closed and then closing and reopening the lid after resume from hibernation/sleep works. If so this would avoid having to reboot.

Assuming that your Vaio is still under warranty I suggest that you contact Support to see whether they have any further suggestions.
