I purchased a new Viao SVF1531C5E last November and very pleased with it apart from the brightness control which no longer works when I try to adjust it. The brightness is acceptable if I tilt the laptop but in the normal open position on your lap it is dreadful. Unfortunately the top/screen doesn`t open as far as my old Viao and I believe that is the main cause of the problem. Anyway, I am using the laptop in high contrast which I find is great for my 75 year old eyes. The only downside I find is that some of the info is missing from the top of web pages. Has anyone else noticed this anomaly
