new hard drive

hey there, wondering if you guys can help me out here, im wantin to get a new hard drive for my sony vaio pcv-w1/g, can i buy it out a shop or do i need to buy it off sony

You could, if you know how to open the case as it's not standard. Not sure what hard disk they use either.

kl thanx, will my sony recovery disc still be able to work on the new hard drive or will it be a total different bios or woteva lol

You may have to reset the BIOS settings, but the disk should work.
