Sony Vaio VPCEH3N6E
Machine seems to pause on the Vaio insyde H2o BIOS splash screen.
In order to get past this screen and enable the machine to boot into Windows, you need to press any key on the keyboard.
This started happening after an error with the Hard Drive. A chkdsk was ran and the errors resolved, however this doesn't seem to be an issue with the hard drive as I have tested with a different HDD.
I have trawled through all the BIOS settings and I cannot find anything that relates, I have also reset the BIOS back to default with no luck.
I have also upgraded the BIOS to the latest version with no affect.
Can someone assist please!
After putting in the different hard disk drive did it boot? Also, if your laptop has a disk drive (CD/Dvd) ensure that this is not the first option in the boot priority order otherwise you will get the "Press any key to boot from Cd/dvd" message and if there is nothing in the drive when you press the key, i believe the BIOS restarts.
Hi Challis,
After I put the different hard drive in, the same issue occured it 'paused' on the Vaio BIOS splash screen and I had to press a key in order for it boot into windows.
The boot priority is as below:
Internal Hard Disk Drive
Internal Optical Disc Drive
External Device
Network
So this is correct.
I have searched the BIOS for a timer setting or anything or the sort with no luck.
