Hi,
I have pre-ordered the Sony Headphones WF-SP800N from Amazon which are due on the 27th July 2020. I understand they support Sony 360 Reality Audio. Will they work and play 360 Reality Audio on my iPhone X paired with the WF-SP800N's? I have a Tidal Premium subscription and the TIDAL app on my iphone.
Thanks
Regards
Hi Costeta,
Welcome to the community.
I'll look into this for you and see if I can find out. Someone else in the community may be able to advise in the meantime.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi,
thank you very much
Yeah it will work, the information is on the Sony site for the buds:
Sony | Headphones Connect App is needed. Requires subscription to a music streaming service – subscription fees apply. Some services may not be available in certain countries/regions.
Tidal lets you use any headphones for it.
Deezer seems to favour the Sony headphones and Headphone Connect app.
But the sound quality varies from average to poor, IMO.
Hardly any songs, and the selection that's there, I found not too impressive.
Didn't strike me as any better than what Winamp was doing 15 years ago.
Great thank you. Shame about the sound quality of 360 reality audio being average to poor.
I'm banking on the pedigree of Sony headphones and top performance to show the 360 in good light.
Others may and will disagree, but I much prefer a decent stereo sound to the spatial-ness of 360 audio.
I also thought the quality took a hit also.
The number of tunes was lacking, and comparing Deezer flac to 360 audio by Deezer, and Tidals effort, didn't seem to match up.
I used the WH 1000XM3's through my Xperia 1 for the trials, and cancelled my Tidal sub in the end, as with Spotify and Deezer hifi, I really didn't need another sub coming out of my wallet.
You do have the free trials, so you can try before you buy, which is a bonus though.
Hi Costeta,
I've checked the product highlights for this model and it is supposed to work normally.
I haven't tried the 360 reality audio effect yet, but I am sure people perceive this differently.
Also, you can always adjust the sound settings until they suit your preference using the Headphones connect app.
Cheers,
Rose
