Sony A6000 battery issue / Sony service

Hi guys : )

I am just going to leave this message and probably not even coming back to this forum, but I hope this will be a healthy reminder of what Sony represents. If you're professional or trying to avoid frustration, do not go for Sony.

This is what happened. I was wondering why my a6000 drains battery when it's turned off. I discovered that people have this issue (you can look for it, there are even videos on yt). It turns out that the viewfinder's proximity sensor works when the camera is off  hence draining the battery. I tried turning it off (monitor only mode) and the battery drained less. I also found that this issue is there only with native e-mount lenses. So I decided to report that and possibly start some action from Sony that would lead to a possible software update. At least engineers could look into that right ?

No, and this is the repsponse I got :

TLDR; they want me to pay for beta testing a ready product ?

I said it before, the only reason I went for the camera was the price and I'm not raging or anything, next year I'll probably switch to some other manufacturer, but this kind of service is appaling and you'd either need to drop the price twofold or up the game to actually be seen as a proper company.

Good luck peeps : )

Luk

P.S I also had experience with Sony smartphones and service from that point of view - same thing : )
