Xperia XA - Horrendous battery life

I am getting barely 2.5 hours on screen time with the Xperia XA. I'm not doing anything stupid like leaving it on max brightness (it's auto) and I don't run masses of apps - in fact as you can see from the screen grabs it is clearly the display which is the main culprit.

How on earth is this supposed to reach the advertised 2 days battery life? By not using it? It's absolutely useless.... very unhappy, particularly because it is otherwise a rather nice little device with that edge-to-edge screen.

Have I got a dodgy battery?!

It depends on what you're experiencing, there might be 3rd party apps installed that keep your device awake so in that case the apps are removed. However, if you reinstall them after the reset, you might end up in the same situation.

Ended up exchanging for an XA Ultra and the really strange thing is it doesn't seem to have the touch screen or battery drain issues my XA did.  It's huge but honestly I'm coming from a Nexus 6 so this isn't that huge of a size change from that.  It's much easier to hold than the 6 was.  My XA ultra is also running a newer firmare than the XA was but appears to be the same kernel as the .73 update.  I'll give an update after a few days but for 300 with a 64gb microsd card off amazon this was a steal.  I was actually debating the ZTE Axon 7when I exchanged but the build quality of hte Sony phones is superior.

Also a huge fan of the camera, the pictures I've taken so far just of my dog are really good.  I'm by no means a photography expert but they came out pretty well incompariso to other devices I have used.

I bought my XA Ultra two days ago, but when I charge it to 100% it did not last a day. My old phone has battery issue but my xperia has the fastest battery consumption even on sleep mode.. I went to sleep it has 64%, when I woke up it was on 32% where in my old phone with battery issue has 89% comes down 82% only..

Any one has a suggestion on how to fix this? I already done the software update and software repair on my laptop and now I'll be observing my phone, but this is sad since I want a phone that can last for a day or two.. Worried_Face

I have found so many valuable advices in this forum. Thanks for that. Someone says keep your wifi off, some one says not to activate display enhanchment..someone to keep 4G off..not to play games..clean background app in short interval. I think it is not long away when somebody would suggest that do not make voice call also.

On top of all that will be "use it as a watch, but check the time maximum 10 times per day if you do not want to charge it twice per day" Slightly_smiling_Face Slightly_smiling_Face Slightly_smiling_Face

My XA Ultra is hopeless at keeping the battery charge percentage.  One day is WAY too much for it.

I DO NOT watch movies or play games.

Most work it gets is a few photos and maybe a little web.

It's obviously got a BAD design issue.

HELP ME SONY!
