Browser automatic greying issue

This issue while not serious can make browsing sites pretty annoying. Whenever my address bar goes up, sites with dark backgrounds get a grey tint. As a consequence white text look a little blurry. Pulling back down the address brings it back to normal, and vice versa. I have tried it on Firefox and Chrome and same result. Even another Z1 phone also shares the same issue. I have idea if this issue exists on other apps but it does for any browser. Any idea how to turn this off? Much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the community!

I checked some web pages with a dark and black background using Chrome but i can't see any difference on the text or background in my phone when the address bar is not displayed. Could you perhaps take screenshots of this and upload them here? Press and hold the on/off and vol- at the same time to take a screenshot.

Thanks for replying.

I tried taking a screenshot of the before/after of the issue. When I retrieved the screenshots it showed no issue at all. Software glitch on the phone's part? Apparently the screenshot does not register the colour change. Any idea what to do?

Edit* - The screenshot when viewed on the phone still does show the issue. But not when transferred to my pc. Weird.

Hard to say for sure but to me this sounds related to the display itself in that case.

What you can try is to adjust the white balance under Settings -> Display -> White balance and see if that helps. If not i recommend that you contact a service location to have it checked.
