To begin with, appologies if I've posted this in the wrong thread/section/thingy.
So I've not actually got any issues with my Z1 (that I'm aware of), but I do have a question I need answered ASAP! If I use the default 'camera' app and record a video, how long will it last? That is, what is the longest duration that I can record a video?
I ask because I want to record an event that is going to be a couple of hours long, but the last thing I want is the recording cutting out at various points. It's a democratic thing you see, so if there's gaps in the video it might look like the footage has been unfairly doctored.
Thanks,
Kind regards,
Kyle
I think it should stop either when it reaches the file limit for FAT32 (4GB) or after some time the camera will overheat the device and stop the recording.

That's reasurring haha. Thanks though!
You could contact sony and ask this:

So it seems the camera won't record till it reaches file limit but until it will overheat the device.
So guys I actually did a little experiment. I left my phone recording whilst I pottered around the house. When I retrieved my phone I found that it had stopped recording when it ran out of space. To be more specific it stopped after about 40ish minutes, and the video was roughly 5.1gb.
Unfortunately not as long as I need! Does anyone know if it's possible to lower the quality of the video recording? It might mean I'm able to get more time out of it.
p.s. I realise that seems to contradict what you guys had previously said, but that's the information I read straight off my phone :S
So it won't stop after all,it will reach the limit of the file format on the microSD. You can set it on 720p and not 1080p from camera settings.
