Cannot delete draft MMS

Cannot delete draft MMS

So I have had a draft MMS stuck for a couple of months now.

it's a blank picture, with an X in the top right corner, and the play button to the side. When I send an SMS to this contact (my partner), it will send as an MMS with the blank picture on top.

If I tap the X, it will delete the message and revert back to SMS, however, when I close the conversation (ie go back to other messages etc), and go back in, the message returns.

I have even had a handset swap and this message stuck with me after I restored my phone.

It is not possible for me to delete all my MMS/SMS messages as I require them, nor do I want to delete just the messgaes from my partner

Has anyone seen this before?

Exactly the same problem, Xperia Z1 Compact, Android version 4.4.4.

It happened when attaching a picture from the album to a draft message, and then deleting the picture before the message was sent. When re-opening the draft, the picture is now replaced with an empty picture, and every message is now an MMS by default. It seems to only be related to messages to the same recipient as the initial draft.

Any fix for the issue? It's very annoying to have to manually delete the picture every time I try to send a new message.

I've had problems with draft MMS messages since I got my z1 a year ago...

If I send someone an MMS, usually I'll find that that picture will start showing up as a draft MMS in random other conversations so every time I want to send a SMS, I have to click x on the picture which is annoying. Also, I've had the same problem as OP here and have had a blank picture persistently come back on the same conversation....

I would really like to hear a fix!

Same problem as Roujuan, the file in a sent mms randomly is attached to a new draft message that is created by itself. Dead annoying!

Hi Mr_P

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

The problem seems to only be related to that one conversation, and performing a restore will simply bring the issue related to the conversation straight back.

Try clearing the data on the Messaging app first and then see if the issue continues.

Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Messaging > Clear Data.

let me know if this helps.

I also suffer from this problem (but had no idea other were suffering too!!).

I have reset my OS 3 times since I've owned it (for various reasons). This MMS bug still occurs.

I find the best way to get rid of it is to just send it to someone. I don't see why I have to pay to fix this bug though.
