Charging the Xperia x10

Hi! I am looking for a bit of information about charging the Xperia X10...since purchasing this phone only a few weeks ago I have noticed that everytime I charge the phone in the off-state it automatically switches on. I have tried switching the phone off during charging but it just reboot's and switches back on again. I wonder if this is a design of the phone or might it be a fault? I have looked at the settings, etc. but can't find any information. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott.

Yes it seems that the phone is made to switch itself on , once u have plugged it in the charge.After reading your post i tried it on my phone and the phone switches itself on, so i highly doubt that it is a fault.Guess its just the way SE made the x10
