OK guys, my girlfriend has a Sony Xperia SP, and she has a camera problem. If she starts the camera the front camera won't load, there is just a black screen, and later it says "Camera not available".
I have googled for it and the only solution I toughts its will working the software repair with PC Companion.
I downloaded, and installed software then started the task.
I have done a backup with all the tickes on including contacts and other things, but after the software update when I restore I only got 15 contacts but it should be about 200.
Things I have done:
- Checked filters none active, all contacts must be appear
- Checked Google Contacts, there is only 15 in the cloud
- Opened the backup file, extracted content from Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook it only has the 15 contacts and there is no folder like Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimpo
- Contacts are not on the SIM
The best thing thats the camere still not working and all contacts lost....
Good job!
Can you help me please with any idea how can I get back the contacts?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry to say this but it seems that the contacts are gone, you can contact Sony directly regarding this and the camera as it could be a hardware issue (camera issue)
I don't get it how they can gone if the PC Companion said backup was successfull?
Sorry to hear about your girlfriends phone.
PC Companion will only backup local phone contacts. Contacts that are stored to an account (for example Google or ActiveSync) are not saved by PC Companion.
Are you sure she didn't have any other accounts in the phone where the contacts are stored? If you add the accounts she had before you performed the repair it should synchronize the contacts from those accounts. But it may also be possible that she has saved contacts to an account where the synchronization was turned off.
