Export sms conversations to text file ?

I found no obvious way to export a single message, or conversation, or all conversations, to a text file.

Does anyone know of a way ?

thanks in advance !

I believe this is possible using the 3:rd party software MyPhoneExplorer. When you export a message in that software you can select different formats including txt.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've just installed it but it does not seem to see my M2 via USB. I'll look into it w/more detail when I have time.

cheers

To use this software you need to enable "USB debugging" in your phone. To do this, first go to Settings -> About phone and tap the build number 7 times. Then go to Settings -> Developer options and enable USB debugging. I would recommend that you don't enable any other options there.

Just a quick reply, have used Myphone explorer in the past, it will work but enable usb debugging as Rickard says. Also, remember to connect the M2 unlocked (insert PIN or pattern if any). It will nicely export SMS or contacts or you can even send SMS using your computer if I remember.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but it does not work.

MyPhoneExplorer returns a "no device found on USB" even though I'm perfectly well connected (and can access the phone normally)

MyPhoneExplore's log file does show that it detects my "D2303", but still returns this error.

too bad.

thanks for the help

It should be installed automatically over USB but try installing the client app manually in the phone from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fjsoft.myphoneexplorer.client&hl=en

Also make sure that you have PC Companion installed in your PC and try connecting on another USB-port.

If that doesn't help and your phone and PC are on the same network, try connecting with WiFi instead.

Huh ?

I installed MyPhoneExplorer on my PC, from the link you provided. There was no link to an app on the site.

I'm gonna try, but am not keen on muliplying the installed apps ...

thanks,

MyPhoneExplorer is installed both in your PC and the phone. MyPhoneExplorer in your PC "talks" with the MyPhoneExplorer app in the phone.
