headphone plug problem

Good day guys!

I just encountered a problem on my Xperia Z3C which is pretty annoying.

Basically, I can never listen to the music fluently, because it always "disconnects" my in-ear when moving the cable/plug from the in-ears. I have to start the music again, only to find out that some seconds later it disconnects again. I've disabled Smart Connect and restarted the device, but that doesn't work either.

Do you guys know how to solve that problem? And does the warrenty work for this particular problem?

(sorry if you don't understand the problem, english is not my native language and this problem is kinda hard to describe)

Have you tested the headphones to make sure it isn't those that have an issue like a faulty wire?

I already checked the cables, they seem to be OK! They work normally if I connect them to my PC or MP3-Player.

Do you have another pair of headphones to test? If you experience the same issue with other headphones then it could be a hardware issue, which you will need to contact your local Xperia Care

Hi there,
This is a common issue with the Z3 compact, you can see other topics with people having the same problem.
I was amid the unfortunates and gave it back to my retailer who sent it to Sony for repair. The report says they changed some parts in the phone.
I hope this will be permanently fixed, for I don't see myself sending my phones for 2 weeks every three months...

Ok I'm going to go to my local retailer and ask them to send it in Slightly_smiling_Face

I had the same issue - repaired - and now it's happended again!!

Can't say I am happy.

Needs to go back to the retailer and sent for repair.  I've emailed Sony asking if they are aware of this design flaw and if it has been addressed.  I really can't be returning the phone every 2-3 months for a headphone socket to be repaired again.  At the moment that is the only solution, unless Sony have since addressed this issue and repaired phones come with an improved headphone socket, be grateful if someone from Sony would issue a release of some sort.

To be clear the phone is treated with care and used in the exact same manner as my old iPhone4.  The Sony lasts about 10-12 weeks and then the heaphone socket gives up, (at first the odd crackle, then intermittent cut outs, then death of the socket), the iPhone4 lasted 4 years and no repair and no dead headphone socket.

Got to say I'm somewhat gutted/annoyed.  My colleagues at work laugh and say I should have stuck with the iPhone.

Shame Sony, real shame.
