Low storage space message In both device memory and internal storage, despite plenty of space

Hi,

My Xperia L displays the warning about low storage space even though there schould be plenty. I have a minimum of apps and very few pictures and videos and in the menue under storage settings it clearly shows I haven't even used half of the available memory in any of the partions. Any ideas as to why it is acting up in this way? It's starting to mess with apps updating and other functions on my phone.

Settings > storage

there's a partition only for Apps, and another for pictures, music, videos. moving your pictures/videos/music to the SD card its a good idea BUT its not going to increase the space for your apps, you will have to delete apps as you can not move your apps to the SD card.

This should explain the memory on your Xperia

An alternative solution is to root your phone > install apps2SD and then move your apps to your SD card

This is a global bug in xperia L and sony has not done anything to solve. You can read more from thread "DEVICE MEMORY FULL IN XPERIA L". Please write something in that thread for support so that it will get bigger and hopefully SONY employees eventually read this forum.. I guess it will take time but we all need a properly working phone... If you decide to send phone to service, they just make a dactory reset and you will encounter the same problem after a week or a month depending on the usage..

At the moment, the only solution is to make a factory reset and after it try not to use phone anything else but speaking...

I found a way to solve this problem.Go to the setting, then srorage.
Then wait untill it calculate your memory's free and full space. Then go to the misc part and remove lost.dir file. I don't know if it can help you or not but it helped me. And I can't assure that it won't cause a harm or loss. Any responsibility is with yourself. Thank you very much. Hope it helps!
