I was using my Sony Xperia Miro for about just a week I think. When I was using Instagram, it suddenly froze and not responding to anything, after that it keep switching off and on non stop until I took the battery out from the phone. Then I turn it on again but the problem still appear. I even tried to download PC Companion and hoping that it can help me to repair or troubleshoot the phone, but the phone is turning off too soon before the software can even detect my phone so this is not going to help anything to repair it. Can anyone know how to solve this problem?
Sounds like something might have happened with the software.
Try repairing the phones software in this way and see if it helps:
- Start PC Companion but do not connect the phone
- Select Support Zone
- Select Software update
- In the box that says no phone is connected, click the blue text that says repair phone and follow the instructions from the software.
Thank you so much for guiding me. I have fixed the phone now but there's a few question I would like to ask:
1. Is it means that this phone can't support Instagram and I can't use this software ever again using this phone?
2. Is it because there's some defect in the phone that causes the problem?
3. What if this problem happen again in the future? Do I keep using this method to solve the problem or I need to change a new phone since I'm still under warranty.
I have tried this on two occasions and, although the repair seems to have been successful, the phone keeps randomly shutting itself down. I think this is clearly an issue with the Miro software and the repair does not help in the slightest.
We can't guarantee that 3:rd party apps will work but i haven't heard of any problems using Instagram. Try downloading it again.
Hard to say what the cause was.
If you have problems with the phone i suggest you first make a repair in PC Companion but if that doesn't help you should contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/).

hello,
POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM : CONNECTION TO GOOGLE ACCOUNT ??!
I experience exactly the same and RECURRENT issue and sent it to sony repair center in Belgium - and I received it back yesterday, with a software update and I'm still experiencing the same problem with the first call - I told them I tried already a software update and it didn't solve the problem
of course, the first thing they did was to reinitialise the device to factory settings before trying to get the problem - and then, indeed it works : you can give/receive calls without interruption - but once you connect to your google account and give a call, then again the same issue !!! - I disconnected from my google account and no problem... really strange, isn't it ??
> can Sony please have a deep look on this as ? I gave them my phone for 3 weeks and it's coming back with the same **bleep** problem
