Go to compose a message. In the text input box, touch and hold the screen until a screen pops up.  Select input method and then either Standard keyboard or Android keyboard.  Both are English, but see which you prefer...

In my x10-mini , how can I select the standard keyboad in English as default input method?

thanks for the answer. can't find the info from the user guide too.

just started using android, still not very familiar with it.
