Sony Calendar suddenly lost all events. New events are lost within 1 minute. Sometimes I can see the new event rectangle disappear from the month display.
Have already tried "clear data" and restart.
Please help, thanks!
is it Google Calendar or the preloaded calendar? if its the Google calendar you will have to contact them directly.
Pre loaded calendar stopped remembering old and new events for about 3 hours. Caused by no actions by me.
However, now, 3 hours later, new messages are working again. No changes by me. Old messages gone forever I'm afraid.
Otherwise I like the phone, but now finding it a bit difficult to trust. . .
Do you have any other Calendar app?
What if you try this: settings > apps > calendar > unsintall updates > restart your phone
Interesting!
At 11 AM all old events were lost and new events disappeared after about 30 seconds.
At 2 PM New events were accepted and remembered. Old events apparently lost forever.
At 4 PM, All entered events from 2 PM are now lost again. New events disappear after 30 seconds.
"uninstall updates" command does not appear on aettings>apps>calendar page. I have only force stop, disable, clear data, move to SD card (grayed), clear cache (grayed), clear defaults (grayed).
No other calendar apps.
It's settings > apps > swipe to All > calendar > unsintall updates > restart your phone

7 PM, new events accepted and held until
9 PM, all events dissappeared and new events disappear like the guy in the photo in Back to the Future.
My best guess now is that calendar memory is disabled every 90 minutes or so, stays inoperative for an hour or so, then returns and works fine for a while, lather-rinse-repeat.
Pho, I tried safe mode and events disappear in the same fashion. I keep the phone very simple, had only one Google app, which I just removed.
Thommo, I was of course using that route, but no "uninstall updates" exists that I can see. All I get is the commands listed above. Is it a button like the other commands on the page?
Thanks people for your help with this.
There's one last thing you can do, repair your phone with PCC or try a different calendar (Google Calendar)

Stumbled on something called a "settings reset" that appears to have solved the problem. All test events were retained overnight, which is a good sign.
Looks like only consequence is the phone was reset to the Sony ringtone.
I tried aCalendar and the Google calendar and they both had the same problem. Apparently they are just reskinned versions of the native calendar.
Hope this calendar amnesia problem does not recur. Very inconvenient and weird. Thanks again for all suggestions.
