Problem with Exchange ActiveSync-Kontakt

Hi all,

all the contacts with setting "Exchange ActiveSync-Kontakt" (to Microsoft-Outlook) are not-usable anymore on my PC, because the email-addresse on my PC now appear with double quotation marks,

i.e.

"firstname.lastname@somewhere.com"

instead of

firstname.lastname@somewhere.com

and when I send emails from my PC, they just remain in folder Outbox, but never get sent

Any idea how to circumvent/fix this ?

Thanks&greetings

Brigitte

P.S.: apart from that - I just love my new mobile!!!

Hi!

How do you connect to your Exchange Server? Have you set it up in manual way or automatically?

Do you have any other Outlook synchronisation in place?

Hi,

I don't remember myself setting up any connections zu the Exchange Server manually. In Settings (Einstellungen) / Accounts (Konten) , "Auto-Sync" is ON.

In "Exchange ActiveSync" / "Accounts" only my one hotmail-account is listed.

[I was rather astonished (and delighted) when I noticed, that Mails sent on my Mobile "appeared magically" in my PC-Outlook, and that Contacts I deleted on my Mobile disappeared in my PC-Contacts.

Only later, when I sent a Mail to my sister via PC-Outlook, and it refused to get actually sent and remained stubbornly in the Outbox, I noticed this problem described in my previous message.]

I'm not aware of having "another Outlook synchchronisation in place" - where would I check for that apart from Settings ?

Greetings, Brigitte

Hi,

and in Contacts/Settings/Accounts&sync Auto-sync data is checked, and and Facebook, Exchange ActiveSync, Google and WhatsApp are listed.

Greetings

Hi!

I asked about other forms of synchronisation because sometimes people set up an app to synchronise contacts using USB cable which is in direct conflict with Exchange.

When you open contact on your phone is the email prefixed with ' char too?

Also verify in your Outlook the same. Open Outlook, go into Contacts view and check contact details.

I'm using Z1 and Z2 with Office 365 Exchange without such problem.

You can also check Outlook / Folders view and there should be something like "Suggested contacts" if you are using Outlook 2010 or 2013. This is a cache folder for autocomplete addresses. I had few times exact problem like you with few addresses prefixed by ' but it was related to the outlook itself not the phone.

Hi!

I experienced the same problem when using ActiveSync to synchronize between my Xperia Ray and Outlook.com! When adding mail-addresses on my phone, they get quotation marks and can't be used with webmail ...

Actually, I was thinking about buying a Z3 compact but that would be a reason for me not to!

Apparently, this is an old problem which has never been fixed. Is Sony aware of this isse?

Best,

Toni
