Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded my Xperia ZR phone to latest Android Kitkat 4.4.4. The upgrade went smooth and completed without any problems. Futher exploring the phone, in Apps I'm unable to see Move to SD option.
Was this option part of latest Kitkat OS release ?
Thanks,
Viddhesh.
I suppose you have not checked Latest Motorola Releases.
Motorola Next Generation Mobile (MotoG2) has 4.4.4 update and provided with feature to install apps onto SD card.
Also if you check in Samsung Galaxy Note2 (My previous device), it had the feature to install apps onto SD card.
If we get this feature on xperia ZR too, it will be great.
Please treat this as priority request and if Sony Team can work on this.
This feature is requested by so many users and is so clearely visible in the forum
Sony, whenever I log on here, I see the question posed on the top of the board "How do you like our community?"
This makes me laugh every time because it is so clear that Sony does not understand social networking. You have allowed your ZR users to come here week after week, BEGGING for a solution to move apps to the SD card. You have completely ignored us in your latest OS update, and you continue to ignore us here in your "Community."
You clearly do not understand social networking, Sony, so let me tell you what you can expect: In a few short weeks, Holiday gift ads will begin to inundate us. People will wonder aloud on their social networks "What brand device should I get?" ZR users - frustrated at having recently spent so much money on something that is basically a clock since there is no room for any serious apps - will chime in loudly.
We'll be saying things like "Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY SONY. Their support is HORRIBLE. Their devices are obsolete the minute they leave the factory. They do not listen to their users, and do not put resources into updating even year-old technology."
And you, Sony, will be spending money on advertising just like your competetors. But no amount of money is going to off-set how horribly you're going to do on Facebook, Pintrest, Twitter, etc.
Hope this helps!
Yours,
Frustrated ZR Owner (who has already taken to Facebook about it.)
Just thought I'd point out that this is a user support forum - If you want features adding then get in touch with the Sony developers http://developer.sonymobile.com/about/how-do-i-get-in-contact/
Hi,
I am still on 4.2.2 on ZR as I am worried that updating will create issues. I updated from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 as in 4.1.2 FM radio quality was very poor. 4.2.2 still has pathetic camera quality - it is 13 mega pixel for creating bigger images only but qaulity is lesser than 3.2 mega pixell camera. Call voulume is way too low on ear phone too. Substandard equipment, Is 4.4.4 is going to improve this?.
Thank you.
Thanks, Thomo. But I do not consider the ability have more than three apps to my newly purchased phone an "added feature". This phone is next to useless to me because I am nearly out of space.
I will give that link a try, but Sony has proven that it it not interested in keeping it's ZR users happy. They have abandoned this device, and it shows by their continued silence in forums like this one. The one time I've seen someone from Sony pop in, it was to say that he "didn't know" if or when ZR users would be able to free up internal memory by moving apps to SD.
I figured Sony needed a reminder that social media is powerful. I'm sure the newer phones in the Xperia lines are great, but if this is the way they support their year-old devices, people will come to know about it, which should affect their bottom line.
By that Sony is limiting their customers in the amount of apps they can install.
Is that fair? I would understand, if that would be a low end device which has 16gb of internal storage. But we are talking about Sony’s flagship device which has only 16gb of storage, this is nothing today! One game can take up to 5gb space. Spotify’s playlists (and don’t tell me to listen them online because no one want’s to waist their 3g/4g every month on that) when downloaded take a very significant amount of space too. So to summarise, basically I can only have one (maybe 2 if I am lucky) bigger game and Spotify with its playlists and pretty much that’s it. Great!
Fortunately, I have a solution. I just bought my Xperia, and now I'm going to return it.
I hope sony gives you what you want.
I saw the promo for lollipop. I hope that the option ''Move to SD'' will be available on Xperia ZR, otherwise I'm switching from Sony.
